Optimizing program performance

Thanks to sophisticated tricks, algorhitms and technologies offered by Windows system, Hellcore Mailer is ultra fast-performing tool, especially compared to other mail and news clients. That doesn't mean it will always work with acceptable performance, especially on very slow computers with small amounts of RAM memory, slow hard disks and previous generations of processors. Modern computers, very fast indeed, are more affordable than before and should last for next few years and still allow you to use features of newer, more stable Windows versions and running large library of already available software, even those older ones. But if buying a new PC isn't an option, these tips should help you improve HCM performance.

  1. Don't run too many programs just because you can. Don't abuse multithreading.
  2. Disable storing history between sessions, if you don't need that.
  3. Create folders, subfolders. and subfolders to subfolders, use filters for automatic message sorting, use message purging, leave only important mail and remove any junk/irrelevant messages. Simply put - Try to not generate huge folders.
  4. Disable editor window buffering or free buffered windows manually.
  5. Don't use folder compression on very slow computers.
  6. From time to time, perform thorough disk scan and defragment it systematically.
  7. Disable/uninstall resident antivirus software.
  8. Computer upgrades should be started from expanding amount of RAM memory, then thinking about faster CPU.
