Why not Open Source?

From time to time, some people try to convince others that projects like Linux kernel, Mozilla Firefox browser or OpenOffice suite are examples of "Open Source" being "good". Most of the time, I second that, but not always, because exactly these applications are great examples of why it isn't that good. Remember that if something does look good, doesn't need to be good. Every open source project is a huge logistical challenge, you have to be aware of amateurs and "pros" who can implement new bugs and annoyances, and often developers must face internal conflicts. Also you need to be aware of those who try to "recycle" (use without permission for their own purposes). I don't have time for this. I like the way program is developed and I'm not going to change it.
